• How long does it take to setup and take down?
    • About 15 seconds to unlatch and deploy. 30 – 60 seconds to pack.

  • Can I stand up inside with the sleeping platform fully deployed?
    • Absolutely! Removing the sleeping platform to go to the bathroom at night would be a hassle. With bench seats, there is room to hang out after others go to bed.

  • How much room is available inside with the sleeping platform retracted?
    • The full truck bed is available, all the way to the cab wall, and unobstructed by the sleeping platform.

  • Why use 1/8” Aluminum?
    • We built this for durability. While it adds to the structural integrity, it also can take a beating on the trail. It is corrosion resistant and more impact resistant than composite materials. We believe that it’s the key ingredient in our balance of weight vs. durability.

  • Are the cab and rear windows standard?
    • Yes! The cab window also has a drop- down design for easy cleaning.

  • What are the advantages over a roof top tent (RTT)?
    • Where should we begin…. The biggest improvement is the ability to stand up. It truly transforms a truck bed into a usable living space. When you setup camp, after a long day on the road or trail, the additional room is still a welcome surprise. The stoke factor never fades, especially since the effects on the vehicle’s capabilities are minimal.

  • Why not pop straight up like an accordion?
    • The overall height, above the mattress, is lower with that style camper. You can sit up in bed with our camper. And it’s way easier to pop up. Especially with a load on the roof. Also, you can point the roof into the wind. With campers that pop straight up, the wind will hit the fabric from all sides.

  • Why not flip over for a larger area?
    • Weather resistance and deployment/ breakdown time. Our solid roof will never need to be seam- sealed or treated. And a hard roof will always fair better in rain/ snow conditions.

  • Why does it hang over the cab that far?
    • To allow for the full use of the living area with the sleeping platform deployed.

  • What are the interior options?
    • This definitely depends on individual needs. Some want the full use of the bed between trips, while others want full camper buildouts. We offer the Goosegear interior system for those who want a turn-key setup.
  • What’s with the clear vinyl windows?
    • Life’s too short to hang out in a dark camper when it’s cold and raining outside. You can keep in the heat, and keep out the weather, without sacrificing natural illumination.

  • What if something happens on a trip. How serviceable is the camper?
    • Extremely serviceable. Mishaps happen and a low branch (or parking garage) won’t derail the trip. The hinges and latches are easily replaceable with improvised parts. With some coordinated effort, we can ship replacements to you or have it waiting on your doorstep when you get back home.
    • If the aluminum body is damaged, many welding shops can repair it and get you back on the open road.

  • How will the camper affect my gas mileage?
    • Typically 1 mpg with a V6 Toyota Tacoma. A lift and larger tires will have a greater effect on gas mileage.

  • Do you make campers for full- sized trucks?
    • Yes!  The Nomad fits 5.5′ and 6.5′ full-sized trucks.

  • Where the heck is Benicia?
    • 39 miles northeast of San Francisco and 59 miles southwest of Sacramento.
